Weight Loss Study for People Over 40 who are Overweight or Obese and have Cardiovascular Disease

Are you overweight or obese and have previously had a heart attack or stroke, or are living with peripheral artery disease (PAD) or heart failure?

You may be eligible to participate in a clinical research study evaluating an investigational medication called petrelintide for weight management.

ABOUT THE STUDY

This is a Phase 3 clinical research study evaluating how petrelintide affects body weight in adults with overweight or obesity who have established cardiovascular disease, with or without type 2 diabetes.

WHO MAY QUALIFY? 

You may be eligible to participate if you meet all the following: 

  • Are over 40 years old

  • Body mass index (BMI) of 27 or higher (classified as overweight or obesity) 

  • Have a history of cardiovascular disease, such as:

    • Heart attack

    • Stroke

    • Peripheral artery disease (PAD), or

    • Heart failure

  • Have not used any GLP-1-based medication — including pills or injections (such as Ozempic, Wegovy, Rybelsus, Mounjaro, Zepbound, Trulicity, or Foundayo) within the past 6 months

  • Have never had surgery for treatment of obesity
